15 minute webinar
Good practices to achieve consistency in process scale up
Scaling up chemical reactions can present a number of challenges with respect to efficient mixing, mass transfer, controlling exothermic reactions, heat transfer and reaction kinetics.
In this webinar we will discuss some simple guidelines which apply when scaling chemical reactions up or scaling down to predict or reproduce conditions observed in the larger scale manufacturing environment.
Some parameters to consider when scaling up processes:
- Agitation.
- Reactor design & geometry.
- Reagent form.
- Process safety, calorimetry and reaction kinetics.
- Data logging, in situ monitoring and PAT. Recording results.
- Repeatability and reproducibility.
Key learning objectives
- Parameters to consider when scaling up reactions.
- The importance of flexibility in reactor set up and design.
- The benefits of using automation when scaling up.
Who should attend?
- Contract labs (incl: CRO, CDMO, CMO).
- Scale-up chemists.
- Process Chemists.
